Rod & Custom

Brad has been providing "Dream Rod" articles for Rod & Custom beginning in 2006 .

Here are some examples of those illustrations. More will be added as the magazines hit the stands.

'40 Ford Tub

March 2007 issue. A body style that Ford never offered. Illustrated as a mild street rod.

'40 Ford Tub

Rear View. To make the length appear shorter the phaeton body stopped short of the rear bumper and tucked forward as the old phaetons did. This left a luggage rack area also similar to the old tubs.

'57 Eldorado Brougham Convertible August 2007

What would the four dood hardtop Brougham look like if it were made into a two door convertible?

The tail-lights in the bumper were replaced with a painted panel. The car was lowered over twenty inch wheels.

Modern "49" Mercury

What if the '49 Merc were designed today? Note flush grill and headlights, low roof and high belt line. Wheels are based on the original hubcap design.

Modern "49" Mercury from the rear.

The rear tail-light area was round on the original and is represented here as faceted panels with the lights flush with the surface. The '49 fender line was followed but made a little more crisp. Even the skirts were retained.

Mod Rod

This was designed to look like a late 50's custom but have a unique body design that shares no parts with any other car. It has white pearl paint and pinstriping.

Mod Rod/ Rat Rod

This is the same vehicle but with a totally different finish. This one has the old rusty truck patina.
